Los Presidentes Phase 1 and Phase 2A from Loop 20 South (Cuatro Vientos) to Brownwood Street
The project opened on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, and was celebrated with a Ribbon Cutting ceremony that included project partners, the WC-CL Regional Mobility Authority, the City of Laredo, the Webb County Drainage District No. 1, and the Texas Department of Transportation. This project marks an important milestone for this organization being the first major transportation infrastructure investment attaining completion since the RMA was established in 2014.
Project background:
• In 2020, the WC-CL RMA developed plans, specifications, and an estimate for the implementation of a new section of roadway
• It is 0.85 miles in length, from the intersection of Los Presidentes and Loop 20 South (Cuatro Vientos) to the intersection of Los Presidentes and Brownwood Street
• The City of Laredo over saw construction which began in March 2021 with contractor MTZ Construction
• The TxDOT Laredo District initiated a companion project in October 2021 that consisted of acceleration and deceleration lanes on Loop 20 South (Cuatro Vientos) with contractor Anderson Columbia
(City of Laredo Construction Contract) Los Presidentes from Cuatro Vientos to Brownwood funding:
• WC-CL RMA = $2,064,550.00
• City of Laredo = $3,218,110.00
• Webb County Drainage District No. 1 = $924,700.00
(TxDOT Laredo District Construction Contract) Cuatro Vientos Acceleration and Deceleration Lane Project (CSJ 086-16-015) funding:
• WC-CL RMA = $101,801.00
• TxDOT = $877,029.58
